El Limón Waterfall

El Limón is the largest waterfall that exists in the Samaná and one of the largest of the Spanish island.

Its extraordinary beauty has made it a place very visited by tourists from across the country.

It is accessed by two main ways in which different secondary routes out of the ranches located on the edge of the road to El Limón – Samaná.

Whale Watching Expedition

Humpback whales have wintered near Samaná for centuries and thousands of these North Atlantic whales migrate to enjoy the warm, clear waters to mate and give birth. About 300 whales may be present at any given time. Rock paintings made by the aboriginal inhabitants, near the Samana Peninsula represent whales carved long before the arrival of Columbus. This is truly an experience of a lifetime.

El Valle

” El Valle”  is a region made up of small hills between the mountains of the east and west. Valley basin is formed by the river San Juan, joining the stream and river  La Majagua (Cold River) and flows into the Playa del Valle in the Atlantic.

El Valle (with buzzer and Playa del Valle) is the area with more visitors on safari tours. Is a major attraction for tourism, for its Caribbean atmosphere with colorful houses, children calling, tropical landscape, a diverse agriculture (crops classic cocoa, coffee, coconut and banana) and overlooking the mountains.

Located in the center of the peninsula, it is the entrance, warned by a sign. It is a road of soil that remains throughout the Valley to Playa del Valle, twice crossing the river San Juan. Valley in the geographical sense begins after about two kilometers of the road.

The Valley an area that is determined by the road and extends Valley communities, and that comes from the south of the peninsula, across the entire region to the north, to end the Playa del Valle.

Off Road Adventure

Travel off-road ATV in our special “Quads” on the way to our private beach accessible only by boat or ATVs.

Coffee Route

Limón community is the main stage where accompanied by a local guide, you will walk through fields of coffee, learn their harvest to become the aromatic and rich product. Finally you will enjoy a delicious typical lunch and a refreshing dip in the Salto del Limón.

Biking, hiking and kayaking

Festivities in El Limón

Every town and rural community has its religious festival, whether Catholic or Protestant invocation. The Patron held in El Limón in honor of its patron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Starting in June, the day before Corpus Christi Thursday and finish on Friday, nine days. At parties involved and all the people are welcome visitors. They celebrated in a joyous and festive atmosphere where there is no violence, but the dancing and the excitement. Drinks and sometimes typical sweets and food in the stalls. The patron of El Limón are very popular all over the area, being very visited by people from all the neighboring villages.

Lobster Lunch in Playa Rincón

La Bahía de Rincón  is recognized as one of the ten most beautiful in the world. Cayo Levantado

Cayo Levantado is located off Cape Arrows, about a mile from the coast, about 7 km from Santa Barbara de Samaná.
It has an excellent beach, a pier and a great all inclusive hotel where the tourists who stay at the Cayo stay.
It is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean and is visited annually by tens of thousands of tourists.

Laguna Cristal

Laguna Cristal  (The crystal lagoon) is bordering the Los Haitises National Park, at the end of Glass, Barracote tributary of river stream.
It is a beautiful blue water lagoon in the background has a flooded cave divers visited by specialists in cave diving.

San Juan River

It is a river that crosses Samaná  from south to north and ends at the beach of the valley, forming a barrel of great beauty surrounded by mangroves in part of its route. It has some pools where locals gather to bathe and access to normal is quite simple, since the road that runs parallel to the river side.

El Limón River

It is the main river in the area and one of the most important of  Samaná.
The river runs through the center of the village of El Limón; It maintains its flow throughout the year and at its mouth there is an extensive beach facing a cove opens.
The river has important gallery forests in various parts of the course as well as waterfalls and pools of great aesthetic beauty.

Palmarito River

It is a tributary of the Limón river.  It maintains its flow throughout the year and boasts some areas of gallery forest. It also has pools of great beauty. Palmarito breaks are completely untouched because access has a rather complicated by the steep terrain surrounding the watercourse.

The biggest jump is about 10 meters high and about 20 meters wide. it is said of this place that is the great unknown in the area, despite having a spectacular beauty and breathtaking natural pool at the foot of the waterfall.
